A Family Restaurant
Bottom Row: Ed, Edna, Glen
Top Row: Pat, Tim, Tommy
Ed's Restaurant was established over 50 years ago by Ed and Edna Sconiers of DeFuniak Springs, FL. Our business is truly a family oriented establishment. Our Heavanly Father has mercifully blessed the Sconiers family over the years more than any family deserves. Ed, our "Daddy", and our "Grandpa", and even "Big Ed" sometimes, believed in two honorable ideas: hard work, and generosity.
"All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty." (Proverbs 14:23)
Ed always worked extremely hard. You would never see him sitting down while at the restaurant. He always had a rag in his hands, wiping something and he always made sure the restaurant was extremely clean. Edna, our "Mama", and our "Granny" also worked very hard to help keep this business alive and well while at the same time raising four children!
"A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." (Proverbs 11:25) Our "Grandpa", Ed, once said his favorite blue-collar people are the hard-working garbage men. He once said, "If those men didn't pick up our trash we would be in trouble." You see, Ed Sconiers always remebered the forgotten man, or in this society; the so-called little man. This is why he would never turn away someone who was hungry and didn't have the money to buy a meal. This humble practice continues to be honored at Ed's Restaurant today.
There is a very unique fact about the family and who has been employed at Ed's Restaurant over the years. Every child of Ed and Edna has been employed there and every grandchild of "Granpa and Granny" has been employed there over the years. (Children: Pat, Glen, Tim, and Tommy) (Grandchildren: Pat's children Robin and Amy, Tim's children Josh and Jed, Tommy's children Thomas, Eric, and Rebecca, and Glen's children Emilee and Little Glen)
